Note: Probably the earliest known Kiss recording. This recording has only just come to light, and apparently was recorded by Gene himself on an early 2 track deck at a band rehearsal at the infamous loft at 10 East 23rd Street in New York, sometime in May 1973. I don't usually list rehearsals or soundchecks in my lists, but this one is so special that I just had to include it!
Of course, there's no way of proving this is legitimate. But all I can say is it's definitely Kiss, it definitely sounds like it's from this time period - both from the sound of the band and the songs they were rehearsing at this point, so I'm pretty sure this is genuinely from this date - or at least, very close to it.
It's something special for fans, as you can also hear a bit of talk and banter between songs, including the sarcastic comment: "we're happy to be back here at the Daisy... for the 100th time...f**k you... f**k you... f**k you!" Even back then, Peter was a bit of an a**hole!
The quality of this recording is not bad, but the vocals are a bit buried by the instruments.
