The Kiss tourbooks (or programs) are one of my favourite collectibles. I love them because of the size, the colours and design, the awesome pictures, and because they are the ultimate souvenir from a concert! Although these days, you can easily pick many up through websites without having actually attended the concert.
There are over 30 different tourbooks - no surprise for a band that has been around since 1973 I guess! Some of the tourbooks have different versions for different countries, so if you count all these varieties there must be close to 50.
(Special thanks to 'StarchildRox', for providing extra information about some of these books)
If you've come to this page by accident, you can try doing another Google Search (either just of my site, or the internet) by using the search box below.
Kiss On Tour - 1976 (1976)
There is both a USA and European version of this tourbook. It first came out prior to Destroyer's release, with a page showing "Destroyer ...Coming Soon". When the album was released, the page was changed to show the actual album itself. This tourbook also contained a yellow KISS ARMY WANTS YOU insert.
I own this tourbook!
On Tour (1976)
Similarly titled tourbook from the first one (be cautious when buying only based on the description - make sure you check the cover!). This one supported both Destroyer and Rock And Roll Over. This tourbook had a KISS ARMY iron-on included - many copies of this book floating around, have had the iron-on removed. I guess people did actually use it as an iron-on!
I own this tourbook! (I have two of 'em, they're both pretty bad condition though)
'Sneak Attack' (1977)
Supporting the 1977 Japan Tour, quite hard to locate.
I own this tourbook!
World Tour 77 & 78 (1977)
This tourbook was around during the Love Gun/Alive II tours. Kiss was arguably at their touring peak at this point, so there are quite a few of these books floating around still.
I own this tourbook!
Alive II Japan Tour (1978)
Rather than re-use the World Tour 77 & 78 tourbook, a different tourbook was produced (again) for the Japanese Tour of 1978. As only a handful of dates were performed in Japan in 1978, this is also quite hard to come by.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
The Return Of Kiss (1979)
This is the early version of the Dynasty tourbook. It was Kiss' first tour together after the solo albums were released, I guess that's why it was branded 'The Return of Kiss'. This was only sold at the first handful of shows on the Dynasty tour, before being replaced by the Dynasty tourbook (below).
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Dynasty (1979)
This is the more common book sold on the Dynasty tour. Peter's last tour with Kiss for the next 26 years! There are actually two versions of this book - one features a Paul Stanley Ibanez guitar ad, and the other features a Gene Simmons Sunn Amps ad. The Paul Stanley version seems to be slightly less common.
I own this tourbook!
World Tour 1980 - 1981 (1980)
The European version of this tourbook has different adverts for each country the tourbook was sold in. A loose merchandise sheet came with this tourbook. There is also a German version which has the KISS logo changed to KIZZ.
The Australian version has a few extra pages, and contained an ad for the 'Attack of the Phantoms' TV movie stapled in the centre of the book.
I own this tourbook!
10th Anniversary Tour (1982/83)
Creatures Of The Night tour. Ace played on the album but left before the tour (replaced by Vinnie Vincent), this tourbook still included photos of both Ace and Peter.
I own this tourbook!
World Tour 1983 - 1984 (1983/84)
This is the Lick It Up tourbook, but a different version to the one used in America.
I own this tourbook!
World Tour 1984 (1984)
This is also for the Lick It Up tour, and this version was only used in the American leg of the tour.
I own this tourbook!
World Tour 1984 - 85 (1984)
This was the first version of the Animalize Tourbook that featured Mark St. John.
I own this tourbook!
World Tour 1984 - 85 (1984)
The 2nd version on the Animalize tourbook, with Bruce Kulick now replacing Mark St. John.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Asylum Tour (1985)
This tourbook has larger pages than many of the previous tourbooks.
I own this tourbook!
Crazy Nights World Tour 1987 - 88 (1987)
Again, another large tourbook. Great for looking at, but quite expensive if you buy or trade one and have to pay for postage!! The first printing of the tourbook had a small error on the cover. Part of the yellow border between the I and S on the KISS logo is missing (as show in the picture above). Later versions had this error corrected. I'm not sure how many of each were printed. Apart from that, the contents of the two versions are identical.
I own this tourbook!
Japan Tour 1988 (1988)
Again, the Japan leg of a tour gets it's own special tourbook.
I own this tourbook!
Monsters of Rock Festival (1988)
Kiss were second billing at this festival in Donington, England behind Iron Maiden. Probably not a Kiss tourbook in the true sense of the word, but I've included it here anyway.
I own this tourbook!
Hot In The Shade World Tour 1990 - 1991 (1991)
A huge sized tourbook! Eric Carr's last tour.
I own this tourbook!
Revenge (1992)
Eric Singer's first tour, these tourbooks are quite difficult to find now because of the low attendances on this tour.
I own this tourbook!
Foundations Forum (1993)
Not a true Kiss tourbook, but Kiss are featured in it. The 'Foundations Forum' was an annual three day convention to promote hard rock. Kiss played a special set from their early albums only, on the final day.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Worldwide 1995 - 1996 (1995)
This was used for the 1995 Australian Tour, and a Japanese version for the Japan tour.
I own this tourbook! (both versions!)
1st Worldwide Convention 1995 - 96 (1995)
In 1995 Kiss ran a number of Conventions, and also played an Unplugged set at each. This is the tourbook from those events.
I own this tourbook!
KROQ Weenie Roast (1996)
Again, not really a separate tourbook, but this was Kiss' first performance together since the original members reunited.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Alive / Worldwide 1996 - 1997 (1996)
There are quite a few variations to this tourbook, both in the number of pages and the photos. There was also a separate Japanese version that had extra pages, as well as Japanese text.
I own this tourbook!
Monsters of Rock Festival (1996)
Eight years after their previous Monsters Of Rock performance, Kiss returns again - this time co-headlining with Ozzy Osbourne (although Kiss performed last and were arguably the real headliners).
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Alive / Worldwide 1996 - 1997 (1997)
Very similar to the earlier version, except this version has a silver cover and was used on the 'Lost Cities' tour.
I own this tourbook!
Psycho Circus Dodger Stadium October 31 1998 (1998)
This was a special, one-off tourbook just for the opening night of the Psycho Circus tour at Dodger Stadium on Halloween night.
I own this tourbook!
Psycho Circus World Tour 1998 - 1999 (1998)
This is the tourbook that was used for the rest of the Psycho Circus tour. It has 4 extra pages from the Dodger Stadium version and includes some extra live shots.
I own this tourbook!
Farewell Tour (2000)
A large tourbook. There are three different versions, the standard version, the Australian version, and the Japanese version. All three have the same cover, but the Australia and Japanese versions include an insert sheet with Eric Singer (who replaced Peter Criss).
I own this tourbook!
Kiss Symphony (2003)
Kiss performed a one-off show with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on 28th February 2003, which was released later as a DVD. This tourbook was produced only for this show, and is now very hard to find and quite valuable.
I was at this show, I could so easily have bought a whole lot of these books, why oh why did I buy only one?!
I own this tourbook!
Alive in Japan 2003 (2003)
Kiss played some shows in 2003 in Japan and this tourbook was issued for that tour.
I own this tourbook!
Wango Tango KIIS FM (2003)
Kiss appeared at this event on 17 May 2003. Again, not a true Kiss tourbook, especially as they are not featured much at all in the booklet - and it is indeed only a small booklet, rather than a traditional tourbook.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
World Domination Tour 2003 - 2004 (2003)
Another cool tourbook, Kiss co-headlined with Aerosmith on this tour. There are two different versions of this tourbook - the original one, and a 're-vamped' one that had some extra pages added.
I own this tourbook!
Rock The Nation 2004 World Tour (2004)
The most recent tourbook from a major tour, issued from 2004. The same book seems to be used for both the American and overseas legs of this tour.
I own this tourbook!
Udo Music Festival (2006)
Kiss headlined this festival, other artists included Santana, Pussycat Dolls, and Alice In Chains. Four pages dedicated to each main act. Not a true Kiss tourbook, but again - needs to be in there for a collection to be fully complete!
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Alive 35 Tour (2008)
This tourbook made its debut at Kiss' performance at the Melbourne Formula One Grand Prix show on 16th March 2008. I was in Melbourne for work and went to this show - unfortunately, the tourbooks had sold out well before I made it to the merchandise stand! Luckily I managed to get one later from elsewhere.
There is also a different version in Europe, the same cover but with different pictures. The German version is different again with the 'ZZ' in the logo, rather than the lightening bolt 'SS', but the same content as the European version.
I own this tourbook!
Download Festival (2008)
Kiss was the headline act on Friday June 13th of this three day festival, which featured 99 acts. The programme has bios on each band and includes a double centre page dedicated to Kiss.
Again, technically not a true Kiss tourbook, but nice to have in a Kiss tourbook collection anyway!
I own this tourbook!
Alive 35 / Sonic Boom Tour (2009)
The Alive 35 tour continues by the same name into 2009. However, to mark the release of the 'Sonic Boom' album, a new version of the tourbook has been released with new content and a new cover.
(but getting a copy very soon!)
Alive 35 / Sonic Boom Tour - Cobo Arena Edition (2009)
Kiss played two nights - 25th & 26th September 2009 - at Cobo Arena. The venue will be demolished to accomodate future development, meaning these shows would be the last Kiss play at this venue. As Cobo Arena (previously known as Cobo Hall) was a special venue in the band's history, a special edition of the tourbook was produced for these two nights only.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Sonic Boom over Europe Tour (2010)
A European Sonic Boom tour was launched in May 2010, and with it came a newly designed tourbook.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
The Hottest Show On Earth Tour (2010)
The Hottest Show on Earth tour is really a continuation of the European Sonic Boom tour, but back in the USA, and then continued to other countries including South America. A new tour book was issued.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Monster - USA (2012)
The Kiss Monster tour saw a new tour book released (there wasn't an earlier tour book to mark the Motley Crue/Kiss 'The Tour' co-tour).
This edition had the 40 years logo on the cover.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
Monster - Europe (2013)
The European leg of the tour saw a new cover released. It now says 'Tour 2013' and has dropped the 40 years logo, but the contents of the book itself were unchanged.
I don't own this tourbook, so if you have one and want to sell/trade it, please
40th Anniversary Tour (2014)
2014 saw the band reach a significant new milestone, 40 years of existence! (Well, some may say it's 2013...). Anyway, a new tourbook was released to mark the occasion. The book re-uses some content from teh Monster tour, but adds new content.
